OVERVIEW

The Genealogy Pages start with this overview. Links are provided on the left sidebar to each family page associated with the primary surnames in my Dixon family tree. Free resource links on the left sidebar can be used to research any surname and users are encouraged to do so.

You will hit the proverbial “brick wall” from time to time and when that happens, post your requirement here or on the relevant family pages on this site. This page is not only used for an overview, it is also used for researchers to post their pressing needs and get answers from other researchers for family trees that are not a part of the specific family pages listed on this site.

FAMILY PAGES

Each family page is organized into 3 sections as follows:

1. Research Links – these surname specific links are free and should be exhausted before paying for any research site like Ancestry.com. Be sure to use the general resource links included on the left sidebar as well. Once all free links have been thoroughly investigated, you will be left with the hardest information to find. This is the right time to spend money on a paid service like Ancestry.com. You will maximize your investment by looking for the hardest information to locate and you can do so by subscribing for the shortest period needed.

2. Family Files: including a PDF of the relevant family tree that can be downloaded; family history and family movements throughout the world and throughout the United States.

3. Additional Surname Information – this includes surname origins, any clan crests, coats of armor, tartans, etc.
